It is never good to say "Too much", since the term is sometimes exaggerated and lends itself to make a 360 degree turn and stay at the beginning... So I am not hearing too much Rock and Metal and music in general; but if you listen long enough and vast to be able to make judgements on the albums, groups, concerts and material that reaches my ears... well, with my soul (though scientifically lack of it).

So, let me write a few lines about an extraordinary band (and this adjective is not to exaggerate) of Gloucester, in the South West of England.

This band was formed in 2009 by young, Chris Gyngell, guitarist and composer and Paul Mace, vocalist. This band complement Graham Corbett, bassist; Sean Feeley, drummer and Gil Hird on keyboards.

More than 50 years of life of the Rock, as such, and thousands and thousands of bands that have been given origin and reason to be considered, not as a style of music, but as a WAY OF LIFE. And as a direct generation of this comes METAL.

More than 38 years of listening to... forgiveness live chord this way, METAL, has led me to listen to a myriad of bands. Sacred bands and initiator enough draw to Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Deep Purple, Zeppelin, gave and well, what followed, since it would be an endless list.

New generations of bands always.. or almost always take the first as influences and is noticeable in musical style, in letters, in the generation of new rhythms based on the true pace of METAL: the most powerful riffs, a full battery power and above all the culture and intellect of the composers (composer in this case).

These new generations of bands there are many are very bad, that the trouble is worth to mention. And the new, “fuckin’ awesome” they’re immediately noticeable when there is true love to METAL, it looks leagues when a band is solid, well trained and with a style truly astonishing... note in "intelligence" and the "culture" that put you the songs, is noted in the arrangements, rhythm, chords and performance.

Today, it is not easy to find this kind of bands. There are few. Why? Simply because behind those creative geniuses of the first bands, there are emotional, intellectual, musical and human quality, in the second one, not.

Evaluate some new material from any band, is the simplest and most rewarding. Input, and based upon my listening experience, it shows when the band has its own style and quality highlights so quickly to the senses. When this does not happen, it’s so easy to go on by the following material and continue working.

Then I have little work but very... very rewarding.

And then I was surprised listening to REASON. It was not for a long time that I put "play" to RISE song and was immediately immersed in the letter, arrangements and the voice. Incredible was that REASON met all my expectations (and many colleagues) to make the first play and we mark It with 10.

Thus, REASON is a band of 10.

Some of the best METAL that has been born in England.

Some of the best METAL that appears at the International level.

Speaking of REASON is not talk about genres of METAL, that if Hard, Heavy, Glam, Nu, Death or "X"... is just talking about... very pure METAL.

The best I've heard in this 2012.

REASON is a guitarist as the intellectual leader (to my personal point of view) and that considers paragraph after paragraph in the lyrics of the songs. REASON is a guitarist who is the composer of all material... REASON has: Chris Gyngell.

By the end of the year 2011 REASON signed to Alienation Records and its first MASTERPIECE sees the light at birth in the month of December, under the name of "THE DARKEST STAR".

The entire album, but absolutely everything sounds very fresh, young, with Chris amazing riffs, with a powerful battery and sensational percussion are a staggering fine voice of Paul.

Just a grounder that I heard of REASON to make you captivated... and so will continue for life.

The management of the voice is essential in any band, since many usually shout or they spend trying to pretend a voice that is not their natural: Paul was already born with that gift of a fresh, powerful and extremely fine voice... faint... simple.

The Darkest Star is already a MASTERPIECE that very, but very likely may not miss the collection of anyone it suspected of being a "Headbanger" and in about 20 years who have this album, so we can presume it to new generations.

And no doubt relax, that in 30 years, new bands can say that: "...REASON has been one of our influences..."

The album has the following track list:

"Another World", "Rise", "Before the Dawn", "Life to a Flame", "The all-seeing eye", "The Darkest Star", "Forever", "The Crusade", "Evil Angel" and "Cool Starry Night".

I’ll not write that: "... this is the best song..." or "... this song left you the album"... because all the compositions are of a very high level; both in lyrics and music. It is difficult to say this for a new band, but this is.

From the first song, Another World until the tenth, Cool Starry Night.

After each song it is enjoying one of a METAL in the style of REASON.

Their influences? Because they commented: "from Journey and White Sister, Dio and Iron Maiden, through Rush and Dream Theater (www.reason-music.com)”.

Strange that the keyboards are included in pure Metal bands, but with Black Sabbath began the exceptions. Today is difficult to fit in a METAL band, but many of them attached to a very rhythmic way. REASON is no exception. Keyboards, since that starts Another World not complement the other instruments but they are a part of them; not accompanied them, but keyboards are part of them. Gil is part of REASON and so are his keyboards.

The sound of REASON only just begun and my predictions may check them in two decades and then many, but many of my colleagues will give me the reason.

With Rise, as well as on Another World, keyboards and percussions at the beginning, give a touch of phenomenal introduction to all of us and sing in unison:

“.. When the demons rise

They rise

"They rise..."

This song blaring feels the power of the battery with the feeling of destruction through the veins and the guitar, as if each bone of the body expands to shout:

REASON! REASON! REASON!

After composing The Darkest Star, Another World, Evil Angel, Rise and well, because all I would ask Chris:

"Are you fucking out of mind (in this World)?"

"Are you in drugs?", or "What else did you add to your drugs?"

I am really impressed by how to compose and arrange, and as you have always said you (some of our colleagues and a server) that "no longer if they take drugs or not" but rather, "what to put drug?" or "What emotional state you should find to compose and arrange an album as well?"

If you are reading these humble lines and even or have this album wonder, because you have to do a small investment in iTunes, Amazon or another store for a very large auditory satisfaction and a wonderful metal experience.

Now, I’m anxious waiting for the second production of REASON, which will certainly be carried out also by Chris, who by the way is my friend, and now I have the album autographed by him.
